Across the US state of Colorado fracking has taken hold. In the small town of Greeley, in Weld County, Colorado, massive fracking mega-pads now dot the landscape, some just a few metres from homes, playgrounds and schools.
The mega-pads can have up to 40 fracking wells in one place.
The human cost of this rapid development has been seen in human health. Air quality in the front range of Colorado is poor and has been awarded an F by the American Lung Association.
This video is one woman’s story of the impact on her family of the fracking that is taking place in her neighbourhood.
The community is fighting to get their government to ensure fracking wells are set back from occupied buildings like homes and school at least 2500 feet (around 750 metres).
