Industry report shows 41,000 gas wells for WA Kimberley, 14,500 for Mid West

FRIDAY Feb 16, 2018: Lock the Gate met with the WA Fracking Inquiry on Wednesday February 14 and provided the inquiry with a hard copy of a report showing industry estimates of the number of shale gas wells that could be developed in the Canning Basin and the Perth Basin.

The report put the number of wells in the Canning Basin at 41,722 and the number in the Perth basin at 14,584. It was until yesterday evening available on the Australian Council of Learned Academies website.

We downloaded another copy of the report from the ACOLA website on Thursday morning but by that afternoon the report had been moved. This was a bit odd since it dates back to January 2013 and we have quoted it widely.

We are not sure why the report is no longer were it was on the ACOLA site, perhaps it will come back and the servers are just playing up but just in case…

In the interests of transparency and because of demands for copies of this report we have uploaded it here.

Download your copy before it disappears again.
