HARVEY in the south west of Western Australia is known around the world for its fresh, clean produce. Unlike many other areas of the world, the honey bee is thriving in this extraordinarily healthy environment. But that could all be about to change. The gas industry has its sights on the Harvey area. Industrialised gasfields could soon replace farmland and food. At stake is a valuable food bowl, clean water, a cottage honey industry and clean air. But the community are fighting back.
